KCWY News 13 From Hilltop National Bank's Gary Trapkus:
We have received calls from cardholders informing us that there is are robo phone calls targeting people in our community telling them that their card has been deactivated and to give card information so that the card can be re-activated.
Another scenario we just heard about is an automated call asking the person to confirm a card number by pressing “1” for a correct number and “2” if the number is incorrect.
If you are the subject of one of these calls, please do not respond. Instead, hang up and call the financial institution that issued your card.
Your bank, of course, already knows your card and account information and would not be requesting it.
